this doesn't sound logical because such patient would die from electrolites' disturbance and other complications specially when calculating fluids intake 750ml/hr for 36 hours, that doesnt work with cerebral edema!
He was in DI. The intake was not a problem. The case wasn't logical...and he did end up dying.
I wouldn't know what the highest has been for my unit. The hospital I just started working at is still paper charting & the insulin protocol is confusing. Most of the time I have the pump programmed incorrectly!
