I am really learning why college is called an institution of "higher learning"... my school is up on the top of a hill... takes over 50 stair steps to reach the learning center. Most of the nursing classes are on the 2nd or 3rd floor... 40 more steps!
If I go to class after 8am... or leave the campus and return... then I must park at the lower lot... a quarter mile down hill from the learning center. If I'm in a hurry I'm really sucking wind! I swear, I will be in such good shape when my two years is done!!!:roll

You're in Hawaii. You are not allowed to complain.
Just kidding. :) :) :)

I have been griping about the exact same thing!!!!!!!!!!!
School is now going just fine...It's the getting there that is going to be the death of me! Sitting in traffic for an hour, followed by cruising a congested parking garage for a parking space, wrapped up with walking fifteen miles up hill (both ways of course), in the hot , humid weather... Then in a couple months I'll get to do it in the snow!!! YAY!:chuckle

Well, I can say that we don't have any hills here in the flat part of Virginia...but we do have water. My campus is right on the Chesapeake Bay. The weather has cooled down to the mid-70's and feels great away from the coast. But, my goodness, factor in the wind and its *almost* chilly at the water. I'm dreading the winter....

You all should be grateful that you have to walk so much...all of my classes are close together in the same building, so I'm watching my butt spread.

Lori... and all...
I'm really not complaining at all! I do go to the most beautiful university in the world! When I have some spare time during the day I actually use the hills and valleys to do a little exercise walking. It's just when I am late for class that I just can't believe it!!!
I'm trying to appreciate my surroundings everyday. It's stressful being a nursing student... but I can at least appreciate the beauty around me and it doesn't seem so bad.
It's my new stress relief!
Hope that all of you can see the beauty of the world around you... no matter where you go to school!
I feel my school is the prettiest campus I have ever seen. The natural beauty is spectacular. I cannot say the same for the arcetctual work though.
Oh Sandy, that sounds wonderful. Of course I can appreciate being late for class and running. I was just teasing you because I'm envious over here in NJ. :)
LOL at PeggySue.
I too like the exercise part of it when I'm on time but otherwise when I can't get a close parking spot,

I actually park as far away from my building at school as possible. I need the walk. My behind is big to begin with and I need to get the excercise. Plus the fact that I am lugging a backpack that weighs about 50 pounds. I ought to be somewhat thinner by the end of the program without really trying.
