Inquiry for the 45 Days NCLEX Retake Policy. help!

Published

Hi everyone! this will be my first time to post here, i was really glad to come across this site, i've just read some threads that are really helpful.

I have some questions running in my mind,

[i'm from the Philippines]

I took my NCLEX last July 24 and got my official result this week,

and it was really devastating to know that i failed :(

I've read from the forms sent to me about the 45 days retake provision,

and i've also checked out ncsbn.org,

I'm really confused, i guess my mind is still stressed out that i can't really understand what i'm reading. yikes!

Some of my concerns:

1. It says that you have to pay $75, so do i have to pay again another $200 (NCLEX) + $150 (international fee) when i retake?

2. How long will i wait again for the respond(for the repeat examination request)? my eligibility from California BON took 6 months.

3. What does the 45 days retake means? do i really have to re-take the exam after or within 45 days?

4. What will happen if i don't retake after 45 days?

I would greatly appreciate the replies! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Welcome

Yes you have to pay pearsonvue all over again and what ever the state BRN/BON requires for resit. You can not resit until after 45 days and your BON doesn't take as long as they will already have the information

You do not have to take the exam within 45 days but you can't take it before the 45 days are over. In some states it is actually 90 days because they want you to review and be more prepared the second time around following the information they sent with your result. But from what I have heard from others in your situation is that waiting a really long time actually makes it harder since you get more nervous as more times passes by. For most of my peers that did not pass the first time test anxiety was the reason they failed in the first place and you need to do whatever you can to minimize that.

hi Silverdragon102 and RNgrad2006,

thank you so much for the replies! :)

i`ve got a question to help me clear things out..i took my exam last june 15..is it okay to submit the re-application form and fee tomorrow, july 26? or should i wait for 45 days before i can submit the said papers? thanks! i'm confused about that..answers are appreciated..thank you.. :)

You can submit stuff now it is just that your ATT will not be released until nearer the time
