i have been working thru an agency after 23 yrs as hosp. staff, and i wonder what recourse, laws, risks i am dealing with here.

As most states are right to work states and can fire their own employess at will, I doubt that agency nurses have much recourse.
The other question, is why would you want to go back after being so treated?

You gotta contract?
What risks are you concerned with?
You gotta contract? What risks are you concerned with?risks as far as 'at-will' clauses--and whether or not i stand a chance if i politely ask them to resciend it, or attempt to assert my point using legal counsel--risking further malice and ill will--even if i 'won'.thing is, they did show bad faith, and that slander/libel could potentially 'do harm' b/c it affects how/where i can do my job--or even if i can do my job.they know that. they don't care--they are at-will. [this is worst case scenerio, granted, but say i want to someday get hired there, or with one of their affiliates. if they should decide, "we don't want her at ANY of our hosp's" that could deprive me of up to 10 out of 20 poss hosps/possible jobs (where i live is controlled by 2 major corp/hosp systems)].quest is: go in shooting or suck up and shut up?either way, i lose.learn from me, guys and grrrrrls. --thanks for your input.

That happened to me about 4 years ago. I have been afraid of going back to agency nursing sense then. Thinking about going back to agency work now though.
Old -- Frankly, from my many years experience in business, don't think they're gonna rescind anything.
It's likely they've been well counseled on the course of action they chose to take. Rarely does the employee win in these kinda cases. Sorry.
Also believe you've already been flagged throughout their system and won't be able to land a spot at any affiliated facility. Again, sorry.
Recommend you move on.
Based on the feelings in your post, wish I had better things to tell ya. But wanted to give you my honest opinion.
Good luck. Please stay positive. This is just a temporary setback.
Look at it as an opportunity to locate something better. Learn as much as you can from what's happened. Forward!
larry, [and everyone] you're darlin'--
couple more, please. where in the p&p's is it a jcaho requirement that i file a response?
in your considered opinion:
should i respond?
is it time i go staff again and leave registry?

This is a backward hillbilly state with many jealous spiteful women - all it takes is another nurse to not "like" you and u are DNR'd, no recourse as far as I know - They DO NOT CARE HERE IF YOU ARE A GOOD NURSE - just as long as you are not smarter, prettier is all it takes...believe me been through it....
