Inpatient PICC Nurses

We are considering starting a PICC team. For those of you who have a PICC team, how is the patient charged for insertion of the line?

They are usually only charged for the insertion kit( with the catheter of course). Nursing usually comes free with the room charge.Sometimes hospitals can add a charge for use of bedside ultrasound,but whether or not hospitals actually get that money is another thing as payments are often grouped by dx. Outpatient charges are a different story and patients can be charged for the insertion and equipment. that is how we do it where I work in Ca. How do others do it?
