I have just became a registry nurse and just recently I was told that a complaint was issued against that an IV infiltrated on a patient after my shift, during another nurse's shift. The patient even stated that it was not my fault and that it infiltrated hours after I left. As a result, the hospital I am working for has required me to complete an IV therapy test. It is an NLN IV therapy test and I'm having a helluva time completing it. Half the test I can not understand and can not even begin to answer. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find a complete source on IV therapy that I can refer to and refresh my memory short of buying a book?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Awe...I wish you a ton of luck with this. I don;t know offhand a good source for you but I am sure that people on the BB will be able to direct you in the right direction....so sorry to hear that this happened.....not to mention that IV;s infiltrate.... it isnt reallly anyone;s fault... it just happens.... as long as you stop the infusion, etc how can anyone be at fault.....
good luck to you again.

I took the IV therapy NLN test before. I read up on the classes of drugs first and I did well. Is there something in particular your not understanding? Maybe we can help you?
