Informatics RN willing to be interviewed?

Published

Hello all! As part of my BSN program, specifically the Information Systems in Nursing class, I need to interview an Informatics RN. It's a 6 question interview, and should take less than an hour. If anyone is willing to participate, please let me know, and we can work out the most convenient time and way to proceed. Thank you!

There is almost certain to be an informatics nurse in any reasonable-sized hospital. If for some reason your nursing program doesn't see fit to place you clinically with a department that matches your major, get on the phone and call a few big hospitals and ask to speak to the nurse informatics specialist. Here, you have no idea who you're speaking to. Part of the reason for this assignment is for you to network, anyway-- go do it!

I do appreciate that you didn't just type out the questions and hope someone would do the work for you, but rather requested an actual interview. Thank you for that!

GrnTea, thank you for that suggestion. The hospital I currently work at has been utilizing nurses that are on light duty to serve as super-users and the like. I'm not aware of an actual informatics specialist there, so that's why I came here. You do have a valid point though, I don't know if I truly will be speaking to who I'm looking for. I think I will call up one of the hospitals in Los Angeles area, as you suggested, there should be plenty there!

klone, thank you! I don't want anyone to do my work for me, that takes all the learning out of the assignment. Also, you get so much more out of actually speaking with someone.

Thanks again to you both!
