Info on UCHSC and Colorado???

Published

Hi-

Am thinking of relocating from the east coast where I have worked for 10 years (last 8 yrs on psych inpatient unit). Am considering returning to school to obtain a MSN - either psych CNS or psych NP and am thinking about applying to UCHSC. Can anyone give me some inside info on this school - even better yet, specific info on the psych program?

Any other info on Colorado and places to live outside of Denver that would not require a long commute ( not say, more than 30-40 mins each way). Ideally, some kind of view of the mountains but can't afford a $500,000 place. In other words, is there anything affordable in the surrounding Denver area? I want it all, I know... can't hurt to ask!!

Thanks in advance!

Christine

I just found a place today, i think it is in Englewood. It is a 2bed/1bath condo for 700 plus utilities. My bro lives in Boulder and pays 600 for an efficiency.

I run and it is nice, right by Cherry Creek and Highline trails. I think it is 6 miles from UCHSC and not too far from most hospitals.

I just finished my seconds bachelors, got my BSN and FL nursing license from University of Miami. Moving back to CO b/c a lot cheaper for school here, plus it is suppose to be a great school. Guess i can post on that after a semester or 2.

If you have any more questions i think my email should be on here.

I think the best place to look for a place to live is craigslist.com or backpage.com, or the denverpost.com.

i don't know if you want to buy or rent, but it might be better to rent for awhile till you figure out the area you want to buy.

Stapleton is a really nice new development area, but is a little more expensive.

If you rent from a complex check out at apartmentratings.com i had looked at several places i thought were real nice, but discovered they had some bad ratings.

Thanks Neelia!

Useful info....I will be curious to hear about how you like school. I assume you are going to go to UCHSC? I think renting initially would be the best option for me so that I could get a feel for were I would want to settle.

What degree are you working toward? Feel free to pm me. I am off to bed after a long day but will probably pm you with some more questions on the area, if that is okay.

Thanks again for the response.
