Hi Educators,
Can anyone give me information regarding where I might find national standards on the number of clinical education hours that employees receive: ie, including CPR, inservices, mandatory education etc. I've sent out several searches on the web and haven't had any luck finding a number. Is there an average or benchmark? Our board of directors wants to compare what our education department provides and compare it to a national average. Any help is appreciated! Thanks- Marcia

As far as a national standard, I do not believe there is one at this time. However the American Nurses Credentialing Center might be able to give you some guidelines as to how they determine credit for con-ed (you may find their web site helpful: http://www.nursingworld.org/ancc/ ).
