IUPUI Accelerated Nursing Program

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Hello all!

I recently just got accepted into IUPUI's second degree nursing program starting in August 2013! I was hoping if anyone could help me with a few things, any feedback would be awesome!

-I'm actually an Illinois resident, and I don't know anything about the Indy. Any suggestions for places to live near the campus? The housing seems nice, but obviously comes with a price.

- As a second degree program, I know it's difficult to receive financial aid. Anyone in the program that can help advise on ways to pay for schooling. I've applied for scholarships, I was hoping to get more feedback.

-Any other advice would be helpful as well!

Thank You,

Congrats!

With the second degree program, you are able to apply for financial aid but you have to fill out paperwork. If you email your advisor, they will tell you the paperwork you need. Also, IU Health will talk to you about a $15,000 + 2 year commitment scholarship. There is an interview and paperwork involved and it is very competitive. Community Health Network also offers a scholarship with a commitment.

I live about 30 minutes away from IUPUI so I can't help you with that lol.

Hello,

I just found this thread/post and hope I could still be of some help, although I realize about a month has lapsed... I'm starting the ABSN in the fall and I currently live in Indy, although I'm an Illinois native myself :) Have you had much luck with either topic? Housing or scholarships? Housing in Indy is pretty cheap, I would look on craigslist for people possibly looking for roommates and schedule a visit to meet people and check out apartments or houses. I can give any other advice or answer specific questions if you still have them!
