Indiana licensing monitoring program new nurse questions advice

Published

Hi! Im a new grad and trying to get my license in indiana. I had to go tk the board bc i have a criminal record of driving under influence. The last time was almost three years ago. I understand the severity of this but they are reauiring i do monitoring for two years just to get license. I have never had a problem with any substance but the dui and alcohol problem. I am a single mother and i barely have childcare as it stands. I would have to do three aa meetings a week, one group meeting a week for 13 weeks, random drug testing paying out of pocket and strict monitoring at work. I wont have a restricted license though. I am not sure if I should sign contract as i plan to move out of state to FL after saving wages? Not sure what i should do. Should i move and then re apply for a license in the new state?

would the monitoring be worse in florida or other state in midwest? Michigan or ohio? Im so lost and i have alot of stress as it is being a new mom and single doing it all myself. Any advice? Thanks!

FL and MI programs are even worse than IN.
