I am a nurse from India, and will be immigrating to Canada in few months time.I completed my Bachelors in Nursing in 2009 and have been working in the ICU till Jan 2012. I wish to become a CRNA in the US, for many reasons. I have a GPA of 2.8 and am currently working in the OR. I would like to know if schools admit international students and the what are the pro's and cons? All suggestions are welcome.

Specializes in NICU.

A bigger question is if you have the money: to get a student visa in the US you have to show that you have all the money for tuition plus room and board paid for up front. Not too many people have that kind of money...

Specializes in CRNA, Finally retired.

A GPA of 2.8 will not get you into CRNA school - at least ona 4.0 scale. Also, OR experience does not count toward ICU. although it seems that you have 3 years of ICU behind you and the experience is recent. As to the international student issue, I have never worked with an international student. I think that the BSN must come from a NLN accredited program.
