Incetive spirometer 10x q1h (funny story)

So, post op pt's are instructed to use their IS 10x q1h WHILE AWAKE to prevent pulmonary comps.

Had a 78 year old lady, post op CABG who used her IS q1h all night long. She told me "but they said if i didn't use it, i'd get pneumonia!" didn't get any sleep....

later she also told me that she did it more than 10x so she'd be able to take a rest.

she also gave me lessons on how to keep a marriage alive, including how she would be naked underneath a long coat and flash her husband. and slap him on the butt. all while walking in the halls.
