INactive nurse NEEDS YOUR suggestions

I definitely don't know where to start. I am a licensed RN for about a year but have graduated about 4 years ago as an ADN. Reason for not working right away? Pregnancy and other complications associated with it. I decided to take advantage of this free time to care for my infant, since the first years are the most important to be with the child. Now that my children go to school, I want to start working but don't know where to start. I have had NO previous experience in the medical field besides school. I am not sure if I should just go back to school for my BSN because I only have an ADN. I live in Hawaii and they do not offer any refresher courses here, only in the mainland. So now I am stuck and don't know where to start from this day on. I feel very alone and depressed because I don't know what to do. Any suggestions? Please help me!!!!!

have you stayed current with journals etc, PHES in Houston Texas has correspondance refresher courses, DVDs they send you, and you take a test etc...... I found very helpful, hey apply for a job and get to work, most hospitals have an orrientation that is sorta a refresher in itself... :nurse:
