Hello, when I was accepted to a Florida RN-BSN online program I was a resident in florida my entire life so they gave me in-state tuition. My parents still live there and I still have florida vehicle registration and florida voters card etc. however, I am an independent now (above 24) I live in another state with a friend (my name isn't on the lease) I pay her little rent and I got a job in that state. It has been beneficial because I'm making a lot more money and I'm sending it to my parents to help pay the mortgage.
Do I need to tell that school I work in another state? Even though everything that ties to me is still Florida (except my job). Or can I still get Florida tuition?
I don't know what to do, but they haven't changed my residency .. would they find out? I mean.. at the same time i'd feel dumb if they would never catch on cause it would triple my tuition :\ HELP!
The devil on my shoulder is telling me to keep my mouth shut but the angel on my shoulder is making me feel guilty.
Has anyone else done this?

if you are getting financial aid they will prob ask for your tax return at some point which lists your address and where you pay state tax to. they usually also ask where you have a job at, etc. you can always try to ride it out, but they usually find out.
good luck

Your tax forms will tell a story. If you ever use the new address for anything official, it can be found out. But, the driver's license and continued use of your parent's address, looks as if you are maintaining that as your permanent address as far as I see it. I don't know why you wouldn't file your taxes using your parent's and your, home address. There are people that do travel nursing, or travel other kinds of jobs. They establish and maintain a permanent address for tax purposes with the intent of returning. I suggest you decide what your permanent address is and then act accordingly. It also would be wise to consult a tax professional concerning this matter. People who work in different states usually have to file state tax forms where they earn the money, as well as in their home state. Get straight on this now so that you don't have future tax liabilities.
