I am in RN school in Los Angeles in my 3rd semester. For financial reasons and for the experience I would like to get my LVN license right now. Has anyone ever done this? Am I qualified to take the NCLEX-PN with the experience I have already?

I got my LVN license while in RN school and so did several of my classmates who also needed to work. I suggest that you contact your nursing dept and find out if they will sign off on your application so that you can get your LVN license now. Many schools will allow one to take the LVN test after completing one half of the RN program, but not all schools do this. Good luck.

The Community College in my area also does this; after completing the first two semesters of RN program, student is able to sit for NCLEX-PN.
