3.5 In AP1 Good or Bad?

So far 3 exams and the multiple choice exams have been fairly easy. Basic biology information and histology. Our next exam is chemistry and taking Chem so a lot of repetitive information, which hoping to score a 95 or above.

I knew going into the Lab Exam was going to be brutal, but it was a disaster of epic proportion.

First few microscopeseconds and slides answers were right doing great. Then things became tricky I had trouble identifying what was on the slide. Question was asking about where the pointer was on the slide and I put down where I thought it was.

So example what is the black mass in the center of the compact bone on the slide? Look at the pointer.

Haverian Canal. Then what is in the center of the black masses?

Bone Marrow

What are cells of the bones?

Wrong was Lacaune with Cannuniculi coming off of it and Lamelles in between. It was a mess.

Put Centromeres instead of Centronoles (Spelling off)

Then I studied hard for the lab portion professor threw in question ls from last week exam where I got 2 out of the 5 right.

So my final grade was a 52.

I am devestated I studied for 16 hours, 3 days!!!

Now my GPA is nearly impossible to get a 4.0 and probably a pathetic 3.5. My hopes of nursing school flushed down a toilet like that.

I'm not really sure if you are talking about Anatomy and Physiology or Chemistry. But to answer the title question, generally speaking, I don't think a 3.5 in AP I is bad. I was just admitted to a program with a 3.3 in AP I. However, my "low" grade in AP I was balanced out by other factors in my nursing school application.

I am doing much better this semester in AP II though. The sheer volume of information thrown at me in AP I was overwhelming and my study process could not scale up to meet the demand. I have found that I need smaller chunks of time spaced out to soak up the material than longer stretches close to exam day.

I am just nervous and freaking out. We are told that the program at the community college is very competitive and need a 4.0 in your science classes.

I don't know if I can obtain 90 or higher on quizzes. I studied for an exam for 20 hours an achieved around 88.

The exam was tough I mean I'll take responsibility I am terrible at using a microscope. What I thought was suppose to be looking at I wasn't suppose to be looking at. I studied the slides that didn't expect questions from previous exam so was bit I'll prepared.

Just feeling devastated and that my nursing dreams are flushed down the toilet. Bit dramatic I still have the option to apply to a BSN program and complete it in 2 years. I was hoping to be nurse sooner then later.

I find memorization not to be difficult. It's just have to manage time appropriately and find a study method that works. For me I create am outline from the material, then the prof gives us the questions type that up with answers, and then I plug that into Quizlet. Utilizes flash cards, scatters questions where have to match with answers, and can create my own tests. I study that till I can recite it verbatim with my eyes closed.

I've done partials years ago with EMT training. I am a kinsthetic learner I normally excel with hands on exams. I am looking forward to the bone pratical.
