IMU/Progressive Care RN description

Published

Hello New Grad RN here and just trying to find out a littler more info than what google can provide me with.

Is the IMU/Progressive Care type units virtually a step down unit from ICU? From reading descriptions online it sounds more like med/surg... Seems every hospital describes their floors differently.

Thanks for any input!

As a add on Moving from Cali to the kingwood area can't wait! =))

Omg ! Congrats! I interviewed webcam today too... But no job offer :( I thought it went well dang.

Was it w the two managers from 4th and 3rd ?

yep! dont worry! i ended up interviewing for the "transition program" so we interviewed earlier in the wk (tuesday) and I didn't hear until yesterday!

oh wow ok that's a relief it took them a few days then lol :) I'm awful at waiting, just would love the opportunity. It was two managers the cardiac IMU and Neuro IMU that talked with me. which unit did you get hired for?

So exciting tho! Have you looked into what area you'll move to?

oh trust me, the wait was HORRIBLE! i just wanted to know too. same! they were both really nice. they said we will orient on both and then they will place us. im trying to figure that out! I think somewhere in kingwood, do you have any advice? Ive never even been to Texas :o

Fingers crossed I get a call, it would be great to have a fellow California native new to texas with me lol

Kingwood is definitely a nice area I had a friend that lived off of Lake Houston and it was reasonable price and clean, I can ask what it was called.

I'll be living in Atascocita which If you are in North atascocita is nice, but from visiting I wouldn't live on any places off of FM 1960, its not bad just not the best area.

Atascocita and kingwood border each other.

Awesome! Well, keep me posted. :) When exactly are you moving?

Still haven't heard anything I've tried emailing and calling the recruiter too, was it the recruiter or managers that called you?

I'm kind of losing hope :/

I'm moving this month prob around the 20th depending on movers, have you found a place? My friend said she thinks her old apt was called harbor cove in kingwood

The recruiter was the one who called me. I just moved to Discovery, which is right off the 494 near the hospital. Let me know when you get to town! I can't quite figure out how to message you my number but I def need friends to explore with :D lol do you know how to send private messages on here?

Hi you guys,

I am an upcoming Registered Nurse graduate from Louisiana. I have family within the Atastocita/Kingwood area, and I am interested in applying for a New Graduate position in the IMU area. I was hoping that you guys can enlighten me regarding your experiences in this area of Texas! It's pretty coincidental that I recently toured the Discovery apartments, so if you could also enlighten me with how the apartments and the area has treated you both, I would greatly appreciate it!
