By prenursing do you mean A&P I/II and microbiology? All those classes are available in the summer as well as as most other classes you would need (i.e., math, chem, etc.)

Whether or not you have taken A&P or micro has nothing to do with your total NET test. For admissions they take your GPA and your NET score and come up with a number to rank the applicants. That is where having taken A&P or micro is advantageous. You get extra points added to your score depending on your grades. For each class (A&P I, A&P II, micro) you get .75 for an A, .5 for a B and .25 for a C added to your score.

Hope that helps.

Yes, it did! Thanks!

So, isn't the NET score the only thing that determines your priority into the program, regardless of your GPA, as long as it's not less than 2.5?

No, see above. They add GPA, NET and if you took A&P 1, A&P 2, and/or Micro, they add .75 for each A, .5 for each B, .25 for each C. Those combined is the score they look at. So you want a good GPA, a good NET score (or now, PAX), and you want to take all your science classes with good grades. From what my A&P teacher told me, applicants aren't getting in without them right now. Too many applicants, too much competition.

OK, I have taken Biology and Microbiology. I take A&P I next week. I was advised not to take A&P II in the summer since it will go too fast. I took a high school chemistry (with a C) and I plan to take a college level chemistry to get a Bachelor's later. I had an A in Bio, A in math 080 (my math placement test was low), A in Micro, Psych and a B in algebra (math 090). I was exempt from developmental courses in reading and writing cause my placement tests for those were high, unlike math. My NET was a 74% composite. My current GPA (summer and Fall semesters) is 3.789. I am still shaken over this. I did not do so well in high school but I learned that I earned more credits than normal. I did the International Baccalaureate so I did 13th grade and finished high school in 1996 (the grades were bettter in 9th grade). The ECE-the company that translates foreign transcripts for CCAC and others listed my hotel management diploma from Switzerland, but did not break down the subjects. My favorite advisor told me that I didn't need to contact the schools overseas to send the original transcripts for the hotel management courses.

I got a letter in the mail last month. Application packets will be ready the 16th this month and the deadline has been moved up to February-just so they can cut off some more people. What is the application packet like?
