Impaired circulation nursing intervention

Published

Hey guys, I'm kind of stuck. Its our last in house clincial and we have to do a paper on describing impaired circulation; signs and symptoms. As well as what would be a prioty goal and nursing interventions for clients with imparied circulation? saftey issues? Also they compliactions clients have with impaired circualtion at risk for?

I cant find anything in my nursing diagnosis book related to impaired circualtion:o help!!

I would suggest looking deeper into the problems that impaired circulation are associated with. That topic is kind of broad. Check for things that may have something to do with circulation problems. For example the patient may have a problem with decreased cardiac output (not enough blood being pumped/circulated to meet the needs of the body). Or impaired tissue perfusion. Look into these things in your book and maybe you can find all the information needed to fill in your blanks regarding goals and safety issues.

Hope this helped

Hmmm, why not explore the signs and symptoms first then you can create better nursing diagnoses. But you can start with ineffective tissue perfusion.

I think that interventions would depend on the cause of the impaired circulation, frequently things like range of motion exercises and ambulation can help. There's a lot of potential complications and risks associated with circulatory problems. Some of the more common ones that come to mind include pressure sores (which is probably the most common) and orthostatic hypotension/syncope (which can put the patient at risk for falls).

Hope this helps! Good luck with your paper.
