Passing NCLEX second time with simplenursing.
Hello... Congrats on passing. I have watched a couple simplenursing videos on Youtube. He really is helpful. Just wondering how different are the videos from his subscription vs Youtube?? And in your opinion do you think the monthly plan is a good value to study for the NCLEX?

Langley AFB- New Med/Surg Nurse
Hello Let me start by saying that im a nursing student so im not familiar with specific info about the hospital at Langley. But I am a dependent and know a little bit about the area. Im only familiar with the local bases. So I would put Langley at the top of the list in this area. Its a nice base. The hospital at Langley is a nice facility. They're doing a lot of construction with the hopital. It seems like every 6 months or so there is some kind of renovation going on. On a side note the base has a huge gym with indoor/outdoor track and a indoor pool. There is a small movie theater on base that is a lot cheaper then the local theaters in the area. The movies are not the newest in the box office. LOL The base housing has just been renovated and looks really nice on the inside. Langley is located in the Hampton Roads area and there is plenty to do. There are a couple beaches close to Langley (Buckroe, Yorktown, Virginia Beach). Bush Gardens and Water Country, amusement parks, are about 30 minutes from langley. There is a brand new mall, memberula Towne Center is about 5 minutes from the base. Norfolk, Va is where the night life is. Plenty of churches and good schools if you have kids. Good Luck :)

2nd degree student far from home: lonely and overwhelmed
Keep your head up please. When I first started school I was away from my family too. It was so hard for me to adjust to my new surroundings. I started to realize that my school work was suffering by me walking around all sad. My best advice is that you have to get away from the routine even if it seems impossible. Leave the school work and the boyfriend behind just for maybe two hours and do something new. Sometimes local community centers have free activities like zumba. There is a small chance that you will meet a new best friend there but at least you can free your mind a little. Good Luck

Need Help
I say go for it. For me general psyh was too easy. But that may have been due to the teacher i had. I went to class 3 times a week for 50mins each. From what i can remember we had hw once a week and wrote about 3 essays that semester. Umm developmental pscyh was a little bit harder but do able. Try asking someone that may have taken the same class in your area. Good Luck

Need Help with care plan
My teacher use to hate when we used risk for pain. She said it was too easy for us to do. LOL But i suggest thinking about risk for impaired skin integrity since the client has a diversion device. And if the patient needs to be taught any post op skills you can also think about Deficient knowledge.

Impaired circulation nursing intervention
I would suggest looking deeper into the problems that impaired circulation are associated with. That topic is kind of broad. Check for things that may have something to do with circulation problems. For example the patient may have a problem with decreased cardiac output (not enough blood being pumped/circulated to meet the needs of the body). Or impaired tissue perfusion. Look into these things in your book and maybe you can find all the information needed to fill in your blanks regarding goals and safety issues. Hope this helped

MCI/ECPI VABch ASN Tuition Balance Post Graduation
Im not exactly sure about MCI, but most schools try to work with the students. The school I use to attend had the students go through a graduation interview before the semester is over. They tell you exactly what money you may owe the school/loans. Then if you cant pay in full (most people cant) they come up with a payment plan with a contract to sign. For example you may have to pay the school $$$/month. They would then allow you to participate in the graduation ceremony and get your degree. With loans you can usually push back payment a certain amount of months. This gives you some time to get a job after graduation. But make sure you know whats going on before you sign ANYTHING. There is a lot of lil stuff that you may not know that can mess up your credit. I suggest calling their financial aid office, Im sure they are better help then me lol. Good Luck....Hope I helped!!

Anyone else attending Riverside, starting January 2011?
Hi All, I took the TEAS test too and passed. My advice is to go to atitesting.com and pay the money for the practice test. It honestly did help me ALOT. I purchased the ATI study manual from Barnes and noble. The book alone has 2 practice exams. For me math was the hardest part of the test but my scores on the other parts gave me a passing average. I was wondering about the first term at Riverside. Is there any books that i can read to prepare myself for the first day of class. And i know that this is negative thinking, but what happens if you fail a class? Do you have to start all over or just re-take that specific class and continue with the regular curriculum? If someone could answer that it would be a big help....Thanks
