Immunosuppresive meds and nursing

Published

I am currently in the process of applying to nursing school and I have always wanted to work in the emergency department.

However, several months ago I began taking imuran ( azathioprine) and remicade (Infliximab) both of these meds suppress the immune system and I wanted your input if being a nurse in the ED is a bad idea.

I will most likely remain on immunosuppresive therapy for the long term as other treatments for my condition have failed me.

Thanks!!

This really is something you should be discussing with your primary care provider or specialist.

Yes, as pointed out, this is medical advice that you need to seek from your healthcare provider. Good luck.
