Immunizations...

There is a good chance I'll be going to New Orleans to assist with the recovery and medical team efforts. What immunizations would you be sure to have before deployment? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

I don't think it's an issue in the U.S. but polio is on the increase worldwide. My doctor did a titer on me last year and found that I had no antibodies so I got a shot for it. I agree with the others, particularly Hep A (the virus is spread by the fecal oral route -- bad sanitation). Another thing you might want to consider particularly if you are working outside is DEET, I imagine they will be having a mosquito problem.
