Immunization Clinics and Health Risk Assessment

Published

I would love to start a part time business that could eventually lead to a full time business. Where is the best place to find information on what a RN needs to order vaccines and administer immunizations legally in the State of FL. I haven't found much concrete information. I plan on focusing on corporate settings and would like to expand to corporate health risk assessments and coaching. To keep me busy, figured I can do some CPR classes in between.

Anyone have success doing anything similar??? Thanks for the help.

There is a company (MODERATOR EDIT: PLEASE DO NOT POST THE NAME OF THE ENTITY) that sets their own clinics up seasonal and always looking for RN/ LPN . so if you hook up with one and make extra money maybe on site they will give you proper info . They are throughout all the states i believe. Also in Florida google nursing licenses and there may be an official person who would know that info. I speak to Albany for nymaybe they also can guide you to the right places. Good luck

I will be starting per diem work for company that does travel, flu vaccines. Message me and I can give you the company name. They are in many states in usa.

I ended up being able to find a lot of information on the State Board of Health site for FL. Had standard protocols and orders even. I would need a MD to sign off on those and order the supplies for me. Thanks all!!!!

what you should focus on is finding out what immunizations are not being given by pediatricians in your area and make that your focus. Also focus on travel immunizations. Some countries like Africa require documentation and immunization of yellow fever to get into their country (I would definitely make that apart of your services). What can really bring in steady income is to work with local business in your area for flu vaccines and handle immunizations for their international travelers. Set it up so that you can go to their facility and get everyone done on same day. Corporate vaccines and flu shots is really where the money is.

There is a (new) program/opportunity nurses with a major immunization program (flu vaccines). Community outreach program. I filled out a short online app this week and was called back the same day. I haven't had time to go over the details. The first thing I was supposed to complete, online, was their direct deposit banking info, ie, enter all of my banking info, with routing numbers, the whole shabang. Of course I have done this with "regular" jobs, on paper, at the office, but never online. And it surprised me that it was the first thing that popped up for me to complete after the "welcome" page. I suppose it's legit, and maybe the way much biz is done these days -- so much online -- but divulging that bank info?? hmmm. Haven't done it yet, it's been a few days, haven't heard back from them yet. Any thoughts?? Is this unusual?

Of course that is unusual! Applications to do business start very differently. Are you setting up a business? If so, you should set up a business banking account and not mingle your personal funds. If by the remotest of chances this is a legitimate business opportunity, set up a bank account with just a couple dollars in it and watch it like a hawk. That will limit losses.
