I am due to qualify as a rn next year and i was wanting to move to Kelowna, Canada. I was wondering if they are looking for nurses there and what i what other qualifications i would need except my degree to get one there?
You don't need a post grad to work here. But, be warned, there are VERY, VERY few hirings for RNs at Kelowna General. The outgoing RN class at UBCO of the past few years has had recruiters come to them and basically say, some of you will get hired casual, but most won't. There just aren't any openings right now.
I do not know what any immigration requirements/work visa type stuff is. All I know is your education needs to be assessed by the https://www.crnbc.ca/Pages/Default.aspx and you would need to pass the CRNE before being eligable to work. I'm sure IENs do get hired, but I know that manangers to prefer to hire local nurses and grads to help out their own community. Especially in slow times.
www.roomtogrowbc.ca which is Interior Health's external career website. There are, at times, many RN job postings, but who knows if they are posted because they have to be, but the actual jobs aren't being filled.
