I'm thinking about OB/GYN nursing...

Published

I've always wanted to be an OB/GYN nurse and possibly one day even become a CNM. However, I seem to struggle with maternity. I'm thinking maybe it's not my cup of tea even though I absolutely loved my maternity rotation. Any OB/GYN nurses struggle in the class? I guess maybe I should start considering the other facets of the nursing field. Thanks for listening to me whine lol.

Is it just the teacher/ the structure of the class? Why exactly are you struggling with the course?

If you love the subject and the rotation but it's just a quirk regarding the course then stick with it!

Thank you for your response! I think it may be the teacher. We had to contest a lot of the test answers (stuff like she said external rotation didn't happen right before expulsion) and she was very aloof I guess. I'm studying for my NCLEX PN now and find that with all the drugs and whatnot I'm having issues with it in general. My husband keeps telling me maybe I should accept it as a challenge. Thank you for your inspiration! I think I'm going to keep chugging and try my best. Somehow one of my instructors told me she didn't see me as an OB/GYN nurse but an ICU nurse .

Thanks again!
