Just wondering if anyone else gets subjected to this line of questioning:
Q: Where do you work? A: LTC facility.
Q: Are you a nurse or a cna? A: I'm a nurse.
Q: Are you an RN or LPN? A: I'm an LPN.
Q: Oh, are you going back to school for your RN? A: :madface:BITE MY TONGUE!!
The best one yet, oh you're just playing nurse....... REALLY??!!
HOW RUDE CAN PEOPLE BE? RN or LPN status probably would be much less important if I was caring for your family member.
FYI~~~~> I AM A REAL NURSE!!!!!

This board is the most real board I believe I've ever read! I just graduated from nursing school in December 2016, & received my license 1/30/2017, out of all the excitement and happy tears rolling off of cloud 9 that day, the question that EVERY SINGLE PERSON has asked me and basically pleaded and just about demanded that I do is....ARE YOU GOING BACK FOR YOUR RN? Then proceed to tell and demand that I should because you'll always be at the bottom as "JUST AN LPN"
First off...excuse me??
Secondly...do you know what LPN stands for? LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE!
Third...I AM A NURSE!
Fourth and foremost...RESPECT ME, I became a nurse in the first place to take care of you, your family, friends, and anyone in need..& if that isn't good enough for you then I'm sorry. There's a fine line between them asking to just see if you're going to put more education behind your belt and wanting to know because they don't look at you as a "REAL NURSE (RN)" since that's what it stand for right? LOL!
BUT with it all being said and done, I am overly joyed doing what I do..
Hello, my name is M.Wheat, LPN, I am a geriatric nurse, and I am EXACTLY what I aspired to be and where God wanted me to be!
Thank you for posting this board, completely made my day seeing it, and seeing that I and my classmates weren't the only ones facing these problems!
Much love to all sisters and brothers of the LPN world,
💖Meghan
