I'm a nursing student that got a DUi a year ago will it affect me when I do my my clinicals

It depends on your state and the policies of your nursing school and clinical sites. Some schools or clinical facilities may conduct background checks, and a DUI can impact your ability to participate in clinicals or affect your eligibility for licensure.

However, many schools are willing to work with students on a case-by-case basis, especially if the offense was a one-time issue and you've demonstrated that you've taken steps to address it (e.g., attending counseling and completing any required programs).

It's a good idea to talk to your program director or advisor about your situation to understand how it might affect your clinical placements and whether you need to take additional steps.

When you graduate, you may have a problem when you apply for authorization to take the NCLEX, as the BON will conduct a deep-level background check. Be sure to answer all questions on your application truthfully.
