everyone I can possibly think of and when I first call they are willing to hire me until I say that I'm a new grad - All of the DON at these facility says
that they know that's it's hard for me but keep trying-and call them back when I get some exprience - I just new someone to give me an opportunity
When I first came out of school I had to work several miles away from my home to get someone to offer me a good offer. I found that job by searching the internet and typing in new grad LPN. I know longterm care facilities usually hire, also check addiction facilities, psych Sheppard Pratt (not sure if they hire new grads), there is a facility in Catonsville ran by the State that has hired a new grad friend before. Most importanly keep checking, the offer will come. How far from home are you willing to travel?
Good Luck

Stop calling! LTC facilities utilize LPNs and if they have already told you they need nurses I'd put on a nice business suit, grab your resume, references from your professors and go in for a face to face. They need nurses and you are one! I know things have slowed down a bit but there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to find a job in LTC in this or the DC area. Good luck and don't give up your job is out there.
Thanks Jules A but , thing are rough at the home front - there is nothing I'm not trying to pull out my hat- and I do dress up and go to the facilities -and as a matter of fact ,I'm about to leave now and go to one - but that doesn't change anything trust me!! - it's really hard out here right now-
hey, jules I had a little luck - I got hired as a cna @ 10.00 hr. that's a bummer however as a temp position for a staffing agency - however they are working on getting me in one of their facility full - time as a LPN - when I don't know I just have to take that little money right now - the pay makes me feel like a loser
see ya later
Congratulations, and I hope they come through for you very soon and get you on board as a LPN. Thank you for writing back and I applaud you for doing what you have to do to keep some money coming in. Don't feel like a loser, to me a loser would sit on the sofa feeling sorry for themself while the bills piled up. You are being proactive, adding to your experience and contacts in the field. I bet the facility where they send you snatches you up when they see how determined you are. Please keep us posted. Hugs, Jules
