This is my second year in my nursing prereqs and I am feeling really discouraged about nursing because my gpa right now is a 3.4 and I'm having to retake anatomy 1 & 2 and microbiology because I made a C in all 3 classes. I'm really scared that no school is going to accept me because I'm having to retake my major science classes. I made an A on my 2nd time retaking anatomy 2. Right now, I'm retaking anatomy 1 (which I'm sure I will get an A on) and microbiology (which I do not think I can get an A on...maybe a B). I haven't taken the HESI exam yet and I just got accepted as a volunteer at a local hospital. The due date for most of my nursing school applications is on January! Please I need help. PLEASE encourage me and give me hope! Thank you.

Eh. You'd be surprised. I think you have a chance.

From your perseverance it appears you obviously want to be a nurse, otherwise you would have given up and not retaken your science classes. There are other ways to become an RN such as becoming an LPN, then doing the LPN to RN course, or you can apply to other schools public and private, in nearby states and see how that goes. The path you choose is your own, and to give up now after investing so much of your time, in my opinion would be silly. Good luck

One thing I have learned in NS is NEVER give up. Keep your head up and keep going. I'm now 2 months from graduation and it has been a long and trying college career for me. You can do it! Have faith in yourself! Conquer today and when tomorrow comes then you can deal with it.

I think now is the time to ask your advisor or a trusted instructor on ways to improve your scores. They may have strategies on learning and test taking.

Encourage you to do what? You will either do it or not do it. Why are you not going to get an A in micro? Study more. Study harder. Change the way you study. You want it then go get it. Sounds like you are doubting yourself maybe? Even if you get a B you can still get into school. The key is do you look back and say did I do all I could. When I went to nursing school I literally gave up everything else and took a mentality of WORK and not accepting failure. YOU are in control of your life. No one else. You earn the grades you earn. So go work..and work hard.

a C is considered passing, I don't know how you were able to take it again at your school without extra consent.. Anyways , please double check the nursing program policies about retakes and how many courses you are allowed to retake. There's also sometimes a grade requirement on prereqs like c's and above or b's and above. beware of details like these.
Study daily and read often. quiz yourself on materials learned.
