I want to be a nurse
84 Posts
OK, so you know how if you are in the LPN Program, when you get to a certain point, you can take the test to be certified as a CNA??? Well does the same thing go for LPN with the RN program??? When you get to a certain point in the RN program, can you take a test to become a LPN??? Does this make sense?
Thanks for any help:nuke:

Good afternoon.
Depends upon the program. You will need to check with your nursing program and see what the requirements are for this, I want to be a nurse.

That may work for the be a CNA after a certain amount of LPN school thought but I don't think you can be an LPN after a certain time in RN school. The school cirriculums are totally different. What ever you choose, stick with it to the end that's the best advice. Best of Luck!
It really depends upon the nsg. program, Dutchy. Many do allow the individual to sit for the PN exam halfway through the RN program.
Must check with your individual school.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Thanks.
You betcha!!
Thanks for all the responses!!! I am waiting to see if I am accepted into CSN. I will call them tomorrow and ask them about it. I was wondering because if I get accepted, I will go back to work as a CNA for like 2 days a week, and then if I can get my LPN (while in the RN program), I will do that for the rest of the time I am in school.
I wish you good luck with your nursing future, Maya!!! Let us know.
