I'm a senior in high school and I'm interested in Perioperative nursing. I want to know what are the steps in becoming one, what degrees I need, and what schools would you recommend. Any info would be great appreciated.

I've only seen one Peri program, and that was Dallas' El Centro College. I'm sure there are more throughout the country. :)
(ECC's program is for RN's to continue their education.)
Good luck!

You need to go thru an approved nursing program and then pass the NCLEX exam. That is when your peri-operative training can begin. When you are done with school. It doesn't start before unless you find a special externship. This is the same with all specialties.
