hi guys
im starting my cna classes may 31 and im very excited:o and nervous at the same time i have been surfing the web reading up on the duties and peoples experiences on becoming a cna also watching the youtube videos and reading the red cross nursing aide book just to get a little insight before class actually start... this class that im taking is in michigan and its 2weeks long first week class work and lectures and the second week straight to clinicals at a nursing home im really not sure what to expect but i hope whatever nursing home im assigned to they are not rude with nasty attitudes... but anywho i just hope in this 2weeks time i dont forget how to perform skills... that's my biggest worry:uhoh3:

There is a class near me that is 2 weeks also. Mine was 4, 4 days a week. I don't know how they get all that information crammed in like that, but I know a few girls that took that class and did just fine.
Nervousness is a good thing! Shows that you really care about doing well! Good for you trying to get a head start!! You will do fine!
thank you so much for all the kind words!!!! im counting down the days and they are approaching fast!!!

The class I took was two week 8-4 too. It will move fast but you will learn a lot! Our class mornings we did lecture and afternoons we did labs and learned the skills. As long as you stay on top of your reading and stay focused you'll be fine! Good Luck!

They sure do things fast south of the boarder!
I started my classes May 2nd and we wont be done untill mid December!
I just had my first lab yesterday. It was kinda cool. They had like 14 beds in the room we were in and they said it was the small room.
We were just doing the basics yesterday. Bed making, hand washing, proper body mechanics...
The girls doing the PN program cross the hall looked like they were having a blast!
I cant wait to go back for some 'fun' stuff! haha
We have a one week practicum in July and then a four week practicum in November/December.
It seems to be a verry straight foward course!
Best of luck,
Jennifer

I took a 2 week class at Health Care solutions in Detroit on six mile near greenfield. It went fast, but i learned a lot and passed my state test the first time. I l-o-v-e-d the instructors, expecially Mrs..... She was funny, so we had fun during class. Good luck!
