I'm feeling low in the dumps.Need some insights from post-nclex test takers.

Published

Hi guys, i took the nclex-rn exam last october 31. It took me 4 hours just to answer 75 questions before it stopped. Now, i'm feeling so low and down in the dumps. Sure, i studied for 8 months, did LaCharity and answered Kaplan Trainer. But the difficult level questions i have expected didn't come like dopamine and dobutamine computations( i didn't have any computations at all!) plus i have only 3 SATA's. All i have was multiple type of questions on meds, prioritization, psych, dx tests and few diseases. Does that mean i haven't reached that level of difficulty? Because i was expecting i would reached 100+ questions to prove my competence but then i was very shocked that it ended just at 75. Is that a normal feeling for post-nclex takers? Because my anxiety is really killing me. I felt i messed it up.:banghead: I need some advice or insights. Please help! Thanks.:(

New Question for anyone. I took the NCLEX yesterday it shut off at 132. I called all day today and Harrisburg told me no license as of yet, However my temp grad nurse permit is expired. When I asked Harrisburg what that meant they told me it just meant that I tested. Does anyone know if this means you failed????? I am so upset and don't know what to think.

Wait for the official results. If you took NCLEX yesterday then you probably won't see the results for another 24 hours if your state does the quick results. Some states quick results have taken a little longer.( at least from what I've read from some other posts ) Try to distract yourself while you wait. Pearsonvue quick results are usually posted 48 hours after the test. Good luck.

Good Luck. I didnt have any math questions and mine shut off at 76, and I passed. Keep thinking positive!!!

good news for you. i took it last nov.3, 2008 and shuts off at 76 too but i am really scared. CA results takes too long!!!!!!!!!!!! agggghhhhh

It's funny that we feel anxious before the exam and then feel even worse after the exam. I soon discovered that the agony of waiting is even worst.

I can understand how you feel, because I found myself in the same situation after taking the same exam. That is, although I knew that I should stop feeling this way, because it will not help me, still, I seemed not be able to stop myself from feeling this way.

That is why, I suggest focus your thoughts on something else other than NCLEX and make an extra effort to do this. It'll gradually create normalcy in your life. Good luck!
