I'm confused? LPN bridge 2RN or straight RN

Published

I've been accepted to an RN program & LPN & I'm not sure which path 2 take. I know bridging LPN-RN will take me longer, but I am scared to death of going straight into RN. (e.g. my 1st RN test is scheduled a week after school starts & it's over 30 chapters) Any experienced advice would be appreciated...

I would advise you to jump right into the RN program. With LPN job uncertainty, you'll find yourself at an advantage as an RN. Also, sure it will take longer and be more challenging, but if you're going to do it eventually you may as well forget the eventually and do it NOW! :wink2:

IMO, You'd be a nut job to go LPN at this point. But if you're willing to sell your spot I'm sure plenty of people would pay good money for it! Good luck and start reading NOW.....especially if you have that many chapters so quickly. Stop worrying and get reading lady!! Good luck.

In just reading everything on this board, go RN!!

go for the RN!

Specializes in med-surg, tele,psych, geriatric.

rn of course!!!

Specializes in Telemetry, OR, ICU.

OMG! You have been accepted to both RN & LPN programs? No question [iMHO] accept the RN program, ASAP. I went the long route; CST-ADN-BSN ... started school in 1994 & finished RN-BSN program in 2004. :uhoh3:

If I could do it all over again, I'd gone straight for the BSN.

:mortarboard: ... good luck with the path you choose!

RN! You can do it if you put your mind to it! Good luck, I hope you're reading those chpters and won't see this till later!
