Hi! I'm planning to take NCLEX. And the state that I want to go is Illinois. I would like to know if anyone in this forum knows the process for applying the exam. I'm already a green card holder and I'm currently here in the Philippines to arrange my papers and to review for the exam. I would like to know if I need to take the IELTS or just the CGFNS since I already have a SSN. I will greatly appreciate all your help. Thank you!

You apply for a nursing license by examination not the NCLEX. The NCLEX is but one step in the process. Review the application for a nursing license by examination as an internationally educated nurse. English language proficiency is not determined by green card status, whether you have a valid social security number or your current residence but your first language. If Tagalog is your first language, you must demonstrate English language proficiency via TOEFL with a minimum passing score.

I have found many scammers in Philippines offering NCLEX review classes. I would look into a Kaplan Review course in USA and I think they offer money back guarantee on passing. And it only takes a few weeks to get ready to take the exam, unlike the Philippines where they will try to review you for months for a exam and all the while taking money from your pockets.....
FYI Kaplan (and Hurst) only offer money back guarantee for first time testers who are graduates of accredited US nursing schools. Kaplan does have a review course specially designed for IENs though.
