Any opinions on chicago states nursing program? What about the hospital closest to it?

*bump*

anyone?

I'm curious too, Does anyone know?

I also would like to know.

Hi I am in Chicago State's nursing program and so far so good. They cover alot of the material before you get into the clinical setting, and have lots of supplemental materials, programs, and books to help you through the program. The instructors and nice/have a sense of humor, and will give you what you need to know to pass HESI and Nclex. Some of the hospitals we will be at this semester are Jackson Park, Roseland, Trinity, Ingalls.

was it difficult to get into the program?

I got in on the 1st try. I know a lot of people that were getting in on their 2nd/3rd try after retaking some of the science courses that they received a C or below in. There are alot of people applying but if you have good grades especially in the sciences then it shouldn't be hard for you to get in. They told me that to be competitive have at least a 3.0 gpa even though you only need a 2.5 for consideration. Most people that get in have a higher gpa than 3.0. They use a point system and give you 1-4 points for about 5 sections, Science gpa, CSU credits (depending on how many you have you will get I believe 1-4 points) this year they added points for getting a Teas test score over 80% (I didn't have that requirement when I got in) I can't remember the other sections. You also have to take nelson denny, and have a interview with your nursing advisor because they have to reccomend you in order for your application to go to the selection commitee.

Specializes in Telemetry, Case Management.

Can you complete the LPN to BSN Program with Chicago State University online as you can with Indiana State University? Anyone know?

No you have to come on campus, they don't have LPN-BSN online at CSU.

Specializes in ER, Pre-Hospital.

I graduated in May '08 from CSU's nursing program...if you have any questions..let me know.

Thanks! I sure will.

I got into CSU as an undergrad/2nd BS degree and I just want to know how the admission process goes. I'm taking NURS 910 in the fall, but my counselor said it doesn't mean i'm in the program. How is that class like and it is hard or easy? Is this one of their determing factor if you are a good candidate or not? Do they only accept in Spring or Fall and SPring?
