I am new here I just joined!!

I got in to Harper College Nursing Program for Fall 09!!! I am kind of excited but everyone keeps telling me how hard and intense their program is and i am very scared and nervous. i mean what if i cant make it?? Has anyone graduated or is in the nursing program at Harper College? I need some advice.

Thank you

They are still giving extra points for Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology last I heard at the May info meeting.... I am hoping to get in for Fall 2010. I'm scheduled to take the NLN next month. I did hear that they are basing decisions on previous grades and the NLN not one or the other. Any tips for the NLN would be greatly appreciated!

I stand corrected - I think - I went online for their admission requirements and as of June 2009 they no longer show the extra points :angryfire I am soo sick of them changing things. This program has changed 3 times in the past 2 years of completely pre-reqs and co-reqs! I just called the admissions office and all they know is that they are still adding the points for Fall 2009 applications but do not know if they will be doing it after that.

Hey, I'm hoping for Fall 2010 also. I'm taking the NLN prep course that starts end of july. it lasts like two weeks and goes over everything. You can find it on student portal, class search summer noncredit courses... I think it will help focus my studies. I was planning on registering to take the NLN sometime in august....do you know if they offer testing for the NLN frequently?

I'm in the NLN prep class now, tonites my last class. It was well worth the money. Go ahead and get the NLN review for the pre nursing entrance exam by McDonald. You need it for the class anyway and you can start studying now. They only do the NLN testing 2x a month and right now they don't have anything past Aug. The last date in Aug only has a few spots open so I would go ahead and register now. You have to go down to the testing center to get the form, bring it up to the registrar's office to pay, and then bring it back down to the testing center. GOOD LUCK!

Does harper require the hesi to exit the program? Also do they accept financial aid (fasfa)? Some colleges won't let you sit for boards if you don't pass hesi and you will have went to school for naught does harper have RN or LPN program

Not sure about the HESI. They do accept fasfa. They offer an AAS RN Nursing and a PCN formerly LPN program.

Itsa- I am new to Harper and I have already learned how unorganized everyone seems to be. I wrote Julie D'Agostino (spelling?) an email back in December and she JUST wrote me back 2 days ago.

I wish you goodluck on trying to get into the program,

Stefanie

Oh yeah this program is so disorganized!!! I am so stressed out because we havent even had our informational meeting and they told us we will be having it at the end of july so we wont even know our classes until about a week before school starts...

Oh boy. Well admissions said letters should have went out this week but I still haven't heard anything and no change to my student portal. For a backup I applied to the LPN, and they wont let us know til the middle of August.

Hey scumberledge what does your student portal say? Does it say decision made or something like that?
