Illinois NCLEX testing centers

Published

Hi! Does anyone know if the Continental Testing Services in Illinois are open and processing applications? I applied two weeks ago and haven't heard back. I am waiting for my ATT card so I can schedule my NCLEX.

Also wondering if any Illinois testing centers are open and what the wait time is? I am hoping to test and pass by July because I need to pass before my official start date at work. I tried emailing the lady in charge and it replied with an automated response saying CTS is closed until May 31st due to the Governor's restrictions but then on the CTS site it says the office will be working from home.

ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated because I am stressing out about not testing in time.

Don't give up. I know a lot of hospitals are on hiring freezes right now, and Illinois Masonic is suspending their interviews for their July new grad residency. Contact HR, find someone you can email that is hiring and ask them questions about the position.

EVERYONE doubted my decision to move to Chicago. I was really anxious and defeated hearing that most new grads struggle to find positions. It's true. I applied to hospitals in my hometown and my school area and I heard back within 24 hours and received the jobs within 2 hours of interviewing. Chicago is a whole new world. I am just telling you even though people say it's difficult, don't give up! I had a mediocre GPA 3.4ish but I had 3 years of hospital experience as a nurse tech. I think it helped to have something like that stand out. I wasn't a part of the nursing honor's fraternity or whatever it was called because I didn't get invited to join ? NW recently updated their site for applying which allows you to see when a recruiter is looking at your application, when they are asking you for an interview etc.

I know all of the hospitals (from what I have done research on) require you to pass the NCLEX and having a license by the start date.

I got my ATT today around 3pm. I was able to schedule mid June in Iowa City. I wanted a date mid-June but the closest I could find was Iowa City. Dates available June 2,3,5 and 29th for Chicago but nothing else within 200 miles for 3 months. But June was wide open for Iowa City!

YAY! That's so exciting! Thank you for letting me know! Did your application status on CTS change or did you just get an email with your ATT?

My application status on CTS did not change. I just got an email from NCSBN.

Hi there! I am also applying out of state for IL licensing and am yet to hear anything. Does anyone know what the processing times have been like on average? Their website says to reach out if in 10 business days you haven't gotten your ATT but I don't know if that is delayed due to Covid. Let me know if you find out any other info!

I applied back in late February and sent in my ED nur form early may. I heard back June 1st the day they reopened. CTS has been closed since early March they have thousands of applications to go through. They said they go in order in which they were received. It could take a week or it could take till mid July. You could call CTS but they were super rude to me and didn’t provide any info

Spots open everyday! You will be fine! Just focus on studying and make a date In your head that you want to take the NCLEX to help structure your studying. There were spots open every day of the week in June in Iowa City and spots in Illinois scattered throughout

Hi! I submitted my application in the beginning of May and all my supporting documents were received by May 20th. Today marked 10 business days for me so I called and they said things were different due to Covid but I got my ATT like 30 minutes later! So it took me about 2 weeks to get mine once they received everything ?

Hey! Can I ask exactly what date you submitted your application in May?
