wanted to get some input on his article. its concerning the inability of il to pay its social service organizations.

how does this affect us? i work in nephrology and many of my patients depend on medicaid payments for cab rides to/from dialysis units. i work in peoria and we have limited cab service as it is so when the taxis don't get paid by the state, they don't want to bring out pts to dialysis. this really impacts their care and my ability to provide care.

what about you? how does affect you?

I know University of Illinois Hospital has had a hiring freeze. They are funded through the state. I think they may still be hiring people but in small amounts.
