Illinois License Concern

Published

hello everyone. i would like to ask for any advice or suggestion regarding my situation. here it goes:

I passed my NCLEX last Dec. 2007 and registered for my license last February 27, 2008. I just found my name in the Illinois website and it showed that my license is going to expire this May 31, 2008. I am concerned because SSN is needed in order to renew the license. You see i still don't have an SSN due to the fact that i'm still here in the Philippines. I am planning to call IDFPR which is the professional regulation office of Illinois. It worries me because if i'm not able to renew my license this may render my license not active or invalid. I would like to hear from members and moderators of this forum to give me some advice on how will i present my situation to them (the IDFPR). I would like to think that somehow they would give me some consideration since the period from my date of registration to the date of expiry is such a short span of time.

This is actually quite normal, for them to have a short period of being valid. Depends on how the state handles their licensing.

There is already much written on this, suggest that you just do a search for the information here.

il runs a two year licensure cycle for rns.

everybody's license expires on that date.

Not necessarily when they are foreign and are just getting licensed. Things are different for them in many cases, and depends on the cycle that the state uses.
