Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone had ever had the same situation I have in regards to the status of my license. I passed the NCLEX for IL last Jan. 12. I then sent in my payment of $50 a week after. Now, im waiting for my license, however when I checked my license status online this is what I saw..

New Initial ApplicationEnter/Check Education HistoryPending

New Initial ApplicationAdministrative/Board ReviewPending

New Initial ApplicationFBI CheckFailed/Rejected 07/11/2017

New Initial ApplicationState CheckFailed/Rejected 07/11/2017

This was my second time that I took the exam. The first time was on July 10, 2017. I was just wondering what these things means..and if I have to do anything.

Hoping someone can enlighten me!

Hello,

I checked idfpr and I've received the same status as you did. Did you ever get the issue resolved? What was the cause of your message? I sent you a private message.

Hi everyone. I took my nclex on Tues October 29th and passed. I have not received my letter from CTS yet. I have also noticed that on the IDPFR website it states that my fbi check failed/ rejected. I came to the realization that it could be because of driving with a suspended licence back in 2013. I had insurance but never purchased the sr22. I was pulled over booked and finger printed. My question is for anyone who had been through this. Do I have to wait for IDPFR to send me info before I send in my letter of explanation and court documents to Springfield. Or can I send them in now. Also will I get my CTS pass letter with info on 50$ check. Or will IDPFR send this info to me. So confused on what to do.

Hi Bharris1,

I would recommend first waiting for your CTS letter explaining the $50 payment. Then send in your court documents on the outcome on the case, a short & simple letter of explanation of the situation, your $50 payment, & the portion of the CTS letter you have to send in with the payment ALL AT THE SAME TIME IN 1 ENVELOPE. This was a huge headache for me because I sent in things separately & it took such a long time to get my license. My start date on my job was pushed backed until my license showed up on the idfpr website. I actually drove to Springfield to get the matter resolved.

While you wait for your letter you should go to the courthouse & get a copy of the record. It must have the courts official seal or stamp (I can’t think of the term they used for it). You can also prepare your letter (In my case I was arrested for driving without valid drivers license but when I brought my valid drivers license to court they threw the case out so my letter just explained that). If you were found guilty of something just explain how you changed, how much time has passed since then...etc. It can be just 1 paragraph. I really hope this helps!

Thank you so much mcwitty1! Cts said they are mailing my letter tomorrow and I went and got my record with official seal. I just have to write the explanation letter. I hope they get to it quickly. I have already started orientation at my job, but can't work on the floor until my licence shows up. I wish I knew this before. I would have done this sooner. I'm not sure why they would let me take my nclex if this was a problem.

I know this is a 2 year old post, but I got the same thing when I registered to the site (Fees Rejected, FBI check failed) . I also got in the mail a letter saying I was prohibited from practicing and requesting that I describe a charge from back in 2011, (I Was unknowingly driving on a suspended license, and got pulled over because my windshield was cracked.)I was arrested for driving on a suspended license (I had no clue otherwise I would not have been driving). Anyhoo I got that letter in the mail and - freaked! I immediately did what they told me to do (submit court certified documents of the disposition of the case, and gave a full description of the situation in my own words). To be honest, it never came up in nursing school when we were fingerprinted, and I honestly didn't consider it a criminal offense, I thought the background check was checking for terrible things like abuse, drugs, theft, violent crimes, not traffic tickets. I live in Illinois by the way. I had already submitted payment last week for my license via money order. Now I guess I have to wait patiently. I'm just wondering how long it will take to get some answers. I guess I will be calling in the morning. I will update when I do.

Can you update what happened? I'm in a similar position!

Hi there, did you end up having your license issued? If so, about how long did it take from when you sent the documents until it was issued?

I just got the letter Saturday saying I passed from Continental Testing, but that I'm prohibited from practicing until my license is approved. I haven't received anything else from IDFPR or the state Board of Nursing about what I need to send in...how long does that take? Trying to get this figured out as fast possible.

Thanks!

As far as I know, single-issues (I.e. like one misdemeanor) are likely reviewed by a single person. Pretty much as soon as they received my certified docs, my license was issued.

? So they issued my license on Aug 10th  ?

The documents we send to continental aren't seen by the BON? I sent official documents.

I had a similar experience. This post originates from 2018 and here it is 2023. I applied through examination. I never had a conviction, but sent official court docs to CTS along with a statement and was approved to test. I thought since I sent everything once I pass I won't have an issue. Well I passed 12 May, receive my letter from IDPFR 17 May stating that I have passed, but am prohibited from practice until my license is issued. I thought this was normal until I spoke to an HR manager who stated that I should have something that allows me to temp practice until my license. How is it that I sent all documents to CTS and was approved to test, but now I check IDPFR and my education is pending, fbi failed/rejected, etc? I do not have anything else on my record so why does CTS not send documents to be cleared by IDPFR?
