If you are planning to apply to OCCC's nursing program

oh, no! Where did you hear that? I dropped out of my Chem class because Rose St. and OCCC didn't require it and I was thrilled :banghead: Also, my friend who's going through the same LPN program as I am, is currently taking the 1500 level micro and was super upset to learn it didn't transger to OSU-OKC, but was consoling herself because she OCCC will take it. I wonder if she'll be able to get some sort of a waiver since the advisor at OCCC is the one who had her take it?

That's good to know. I had no idea they didn't require chemistry. I'm going strictly based on OU's accelerated program, in regards to requirement,s because that is where I want to be. any other program I apply to is plan 'b'.

Not to get off subject...but since you said you want to be in the ABSN program (which I am in now) - you know they have strict requirements on their Anatomy and Physio classes, right? They have to be separate classes and Anatomy has to be cadaver based (at least those were the requirements when I applied). Just wanted to let you know, but you probably did already!

Yes, those are my plans, and I do know the classes have to be separate, but I had no idea the anatomy had to be a cadaver...I know they accept Rose State's anatomy, and I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think it is a cadaver class.

I'm so freakin sick of my cadaver now.

I think I've lost the fight.

Maybe the cadaver part was just a nasty rumor that was told to me by other ABSN students in the class before me...if they are going to accept Rose State I'd just go with it!

Congrats on getting into the 1+1 program!! I have 3 coworkers that just graduated from OCCC in May...2 were in the 1+1 and one was in the regular LPN-RN. What kind of info do you need?

Thanks! Now, I am just very nervous and anxious about what to expect... Just wanting to know if they liked the program or not? How were the instructors at occc? Were they able to work fulltime while attending the 1+1 program?

Hello, the 1+1 is a program for people who applied to occc's nursing program or which ever 2 year RN program you decide to apply to for that matter.. Basically, I applied to occc's nursing 2 year rn program. I was accepted but I was put on the alternate list.. Since I was placed on the alternate list, I was eligble to be referred to the 1+1 program. It is where you go for one year at either francis tuttle votech, moore norman votech, or metro tech and take your LPN classes first. Then you have to pass your LPN boards in order to be enrolled into the third semester of RN school.

I really like it so far, I am currently going to francis tuttle votech. I will then by next june 25 be able to take my lpn boards and then in august be enrolled in the 3rd semester for rn school... So, basically it is a total of 2 years for the 1+1.
