If offered job do they give you time to think about it?

Published

Hi,

I wrote a post on here previously stating my dilemma with an interview I went on for a nursing assistant position at a hospital last Wednesday, and an interview I hope I can get at this pediatric office before the hospital calls. I just faxed my resume to the pediatric office today..too bad they didnt post sooner. The hospital is supossed to be calling by Wednesday the latest. I actually went to school for medical assisting. The lady at my college was trying to go over the pros and cons of each with me. I am still interested in both even thought I dont know all the details. ANYWAYS I was wondering if anyone knows or if was offered a nursing assistant position at a hospital or any position at all..if they usually give you a time frame to let them know if you except the offer in? I dont want to reject anything right now..just was hoping to interview at other place and if offered a job there I would have to decide between the two. If the hospital doesnt mention giving me the time to think about it..what do I tell them? THANKS ALOT!:confused::)

All the places I've ever worked at expected a reply directly following the offer. Biggest reason being, they prob. have several more waiting behind you.You can always ask if you can have some time. If I were you, I would have a back-up plan in case the Peds thing does'nt work out. Take the offer, then if the Peds Office calls, tell the hospital you have decided to accept a position elsewhere.
