If I Move....

Published

Hiya all!!

I have a question. I wanted to know does anyone know if it is possible to take the NCLEX-PN in your home state and then apply for employment in another. I live in Connecticut, but don't want to stay here after I graduate. I want to sit for the boards here, but move to another state to work. I was considering Canada, but from what I've read, there is a lengthy process with immigrations, getting a temp. working license, and the part of Canada that I wanted to move to doesn't have any openings for nurses. So I decided staying in the States was a better option. I am not sure if after you pass the boards what status as far as licensure goes one would fall under (i.e. national recognition or just whatever state you've tested in). Any advice and helpful tips from those of you who have gone through this or are thinking of doing this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, Darcia,:balloons:

All you need do is contact the state in which you wish to live and follow the instructions for licensure by endorsement.
