If I am a Floridian ADN graduate, can I immediatly get a Washington License ?

Published

I am living with my mom while getting my ADN at community college, but I want to move to Washington State right upon graduation...how would I get licensed in that state?

You might be better off applying to the WA BON for licensure by examination (NCLEX) when you graduate from school, rather than apply to the Florida BON and then endorsing your license. You can still physically take the NCLEX anywhere. You should check with both BONs and see which way would be the least hassle for you.

So I could take the WA NCLEX, immediatly upon graudation even if I'm in Florida?

You need to check with the Washington BON to see what their requirements are for licensure by exam, but in theory, you could do exactly that. A friend of mine lives in Georgia and just took his boards there physically, but for Texas licensure, not Georgia, because he's moving there. Your transcripts will have to be sent to the WA BON and you'll have to submit whatever application they require. You might want to give the WA BON a call for all the info. Good luck!

Also remember it is a national exam not separate for each state.
