When I graduated nursing school and they paid for us to have a review and the reviewer told us that we should study TWO HOURS everyday until our nclex.

I tried studying, I really did, but I found it so pointless and not helpful. So I procrastinated studying for 2 months all the way up until about 4 days before my nclex. Thats when I actually tried to study. I mainly focused on cushings/addisons/myasthenia gravis/parkinsons/thyroid disorders/electrolyte imbalances/ABG's/lab values. I felt like that would be important stuff for some reason. I skimmed through the yellow saunders book, and the sylvia rayfield nursing made insanely easy book and then read through a study guide I found on here. All that was done during the three/four days before my test.

I wanted to post here because as I procrastinated studying I searched on this site to try and find a glimmer of hope that someone said they didn't need to study. So here I am to tell you, it can be done. My test shut off at 75 and I passed. And I can tell you what I studied content wise wasn't really a necessary. I really do feel like nursing school gives you what you need to pass the test. So if you feel comfortable and like studying is useless for you maybe it is! Only you can really know.

When I did practice questions I averaged about 60-70% correct.

I feel like the most important part is to not panic. Think of it as any other test. Remind yourself the world doesn't end if you fail you can just try again. I feel like mentality is huge! One of my classmates panicked and felt like they weren't ready and didn't feel comfortable and they didn't pass.

Go with your gut on questions, don't just pick what sounds good!

Also, everyone will tell you about 50 different books or apps you need to buy, and I almost bought stuff, but I'm glad I didn't. I feel like there's so many free resources or stuff you already own.

All just my opinions, take them as you will.
