If BON protects the PUBLIC, who protects the NURSES?

Published

BON takes money from nurses for license applications, renewals and everything else. They protect the public and go hard against nurses but who protects the nurses?
Faith? Fate? Destiny?

Bottom line, all BON got to offer is licensure, period!

Actually, it's a good thing that there is an entity whose function is to protect the public. Someday we will all be patients, and we'd probably prefer there is someone at least trying to protect us from drug addict nurses who divert our medications, from people with criminal offenses who might do us harm, from people who haven't met the proper requirements giving us potentially dangerous medications, and from nurses without the proper credentials performing interventions they are not competent to perform.

Yes, nurses need someone to have their backs as well, but protecting the public is not a bad thing.
