Hello Peds Nurses!
I have a co-worker who is transferring to Peds and I would like to gift her something but I want it to be something that will be useful to her as a Peds Nurse. She accepted a position in a Hematology/Oncology Peds unit. I thought asking the Peds experienced nurses will be helpful. THANK YOU in advance.

If you know her size (and the unit dress code) you could get her a scrub top or two in colorful, cartoon patterns. Kids really prefer their nurse's dressed in characters rather than solids.
Not sure what your budget is, but a pedi sized stethoscope would be helpful.
A pocket sized light up toy that she can use to distract her patients when child life specialists aren't around.
A pediatric drug guide.
There really aren't too many differences between the things adult nurses and peds nurses use for supplies. Something for HER might be more appreciated- such as a gift certificate for a spa day, manicure/pedicure, or massage. Undoubtedly she will encounter stressful, heart-breaking situations and appreciate some time to relax and de-stress.

It's filled with information for age/weight-based care.
Great ideas!!! Thank you. I will let you know what I got for her.
