Hello All, My workplace is in the process of transitioning from paper to computerized nursing documentation. We already had computerized documentation (CD) for vital signs, medications, worklist, IV care, I/O. The main focus now is on CD for daily nursing assessments. They are doing it system wise and 1 -2 systems at a time. In my opinion, its moving too slow!! My question is, what kind of program do you use or used at your hospital for daily nursing assessment computer documentation? We currently use CareCast.

At my workplace NP gets better benefits than NI (nurse informatist). NP have a union position and NI is under management. I probably will end up doing both Masters program but I can't seem to decide which one to do first. Arghhhhh!!!

Hello Peds Nurses! I have a co-worker who is transferring to Peds and I would like to gift her something but I want it to be something that will be useful to her as a Peds Nurse. She accepted a position in a Hematology/Oncology Peds unit. I thought asking the Peds experienced nurses will be helpful. THANK YOU in advance.

JustinAllen, Have you started the informatics program? Which college did you choose and why? I am seriously considering Nursing Informatics. So far, I am leaning toward Walden or UC Denver. How is the program? Thanks in advance.

I agree with ikarus7401. I am a super user at my workplace. Just talk to someone from the informatics department and let them know you want to be a super user. I did the same. I wasn't called for a while even though they had new programs started and they needed super users. I called/emailed my NI director and I am back as a super user. It benefits me since I want to start my MSN in NI. Actively looking out for the best schools/program. Good luck in becoming a super user!

Thank you nicenurse46 for your reply. I have read both negative and positive feedback about Walden and it is nice to hear positive thoughts from a NI student. Good luck with practicum. (yes, I read your post about preceptor hunt earlier today, good luck with that. Hope you find one sooooon!).
